Geraldine Cox is an inspirational woman, the subject of my second blog, and guest on the 7pm Project this evening. If you didn't get a chance to watch, take a few minutes to do it now.

Woot! Listen!

"I poke my stick in the ground till I find a mine.
Then I dig around it, to make sure that it is not booby-trapped.
Then, I unscrew the detonator.  And the mine is safe."

Sometimes one persons efforts just need to be seen to be believed. Aki Ra, after being enlisted as a child soldier under the Khmer Rouge and being forced to lay hundreds of landmines, has taken it upon himself to clear those same landmines and more, to make the land safe once again.

While there may be plenty of people taking on this noble and dangerous task every day, Aki Ra is the man who does it armed only with a stick, some rudimentary tools, and his bare hands.

He is the currently featured 'Badass of the Week', and an all out legend.

The new ad campaign for 2 degrees in New Zealand, featuring Rhys Darby. Gold.

I hadn't heard this story until I saw the group pop up on my Facebook home page. I searched for the story behind Jason Napier, to see what all the fuss was about before joining the group (and to make sure that the mention of 'chk chk boom girl' was not an indicator of the story content).

Courage in the face of adversity is the hardest to muster, but Jason Napier is doing it in style. You can read one of many articles on Jason Napier's story here, and then join the group to help make Jason Napier famous.

This link crossed my path this week, from New Zealand's version of eBay, www.trademe.co.nz (thanks Hayden). Not only is the auction quite humorous (even down to the seller's question and answer section), you can now also buy a tee shirt from the 'Scary Washing Machine' range at Mr Vintage. The pictured dinosaur is also for sale on TradeMe.

Check out the auction, it closes on the 18th June and the bid at the time of writing was already $241 - a jump from the $15 bucks I saw it at yesterday!

The Viktor and Rolf website is super cool. My personal favourite part is the perfumery room - it is truly magical. Provided your computer doesn't keel over and die just trying to open the site, it really is a fairytale like experience - the music is mysterious and enchanting, the transtions are fluid and it almost feels like you've stumbled into someone elses wonderfully large, greyscale house and you get to peek at the treasures inside.

Seeing the owners in the back of the library is a neat touch too. I like.

This guy flew a (suspiciously bomb-looking) gps system around the world to draw a picture of himself.

Flipping awesomeness.

The latest Flight of the Conchords video release from their self titled LP. This was always my favourite song live.
