... is that despite the fact the IRD are able to operate thanks - in part - to my hard earned money, I still have to pay to call their "tollfree" number if I want to call for assistance from a cellphone.

What's up with that?!? Give me my free cellphone call!

...goes to Reload's smoked salmon salad. Its got all of the good stuff and it's yummy - thats the most important part. Pure genius.

I've just come back from what can only be described as the current highlight of my career - X|Media|Lab in Wellington. The format for the weekend was brilliant, and so much more useful than the usual conference or trade show.

Day 1 kicked off with discussions covering four broad areas of the process between generating an idea through to commercialising it - providing a basis for our team to listen to market trends, ideas, advice and pitfalls from a variety of industry experts, and then determine who we would like to work with on our particular projects.

Day 2 and 3 consisted of back to back workshops discussing in detail the commercialisation process for our project(s) with each mentor (speakers from the previous day) - which is where the real value emerged.

What I came away with was effectively my new 'bible' of advice and ideas from 9 prominent individuals in the new media arena, targeted specifically at what we are working on - priceless!

Anyone organising a conference NEEDS to review this format, it is officially the cats pyjamas.

Massive props to Megan, Brendan and the team for such a successful event!
